Gaskell Ball
Ballroom dance, refers collectively to a set of partner dances, which originated in the Western world and are now enjoyed both socially and competitively around the globe. Its performance and entertainment aspects are also widely enjoyed on stage, in film, and on television.

While historically ballroom dance may refer to any form of formal social dancing as recreation, with the eminence of dancesport in modern times the term has become much narrower in scope, usually referring specifically to the International Standard and International Latin style dances (see dance groupings below). In the United States, two additional variations—"American Smooth" and "American Rhythm"—have also been popularized and are commonly recognized as styles of "ballroom dance".

The term "ballroom dancing" is derived from the word ball, which in turn originates from the Latin word ballare which means "to dance". In times past, ballroom dancing was "social dancing" for the privileged, leaving "folk dancing" for the lower classes. These boundaries have since become blurred, and it should be noted even in times long gone, many "ballroom" dances were really elevated folk dances.

A ballet tutu is a skirt worn as a costume in a ballet performance, often with attached bodice. It might be single layer, hanging down, or multiple layers starched and strutting out. Tutus were often cherished as costumes, for the tanning makeup people used to wear was forbidden to touch the costumes. Ballet Ports de Bras arm movements were modified to not touch the elegant costumes.

特色傳記

Napoleon and Tabitha D'umo, also known as Nappytabs, are husband and wife choreographers who are often credited with developing the new style of hip-hop dance known as lyrical hip-hop. They have been working together in the dance industry since 1996 and are best known for their choreography on the TV show So You Think You Can Dance. They were subsequently nominated for a 2009 Emmy Award for Outstanding Choreography for their work on season four. In addition to So You Think You Can Dance, Tabitha and Napoleon are supervising choreographers on MTV's America's Best Dance Crew and own Nappytabs urban dancewear.

Napoleon and Tabitha started their career in Las Vegas while still in college choreographing industrial musicals for large businesses. After moving to Los Angeles, they began teaching dance classes and choreographing for professional basketball and football dance teams including the Orlando Magic and the Dallas Cowboys. Their career improved to choreographing music videos, commercials, films, television shows, and concerts. They have worked with entertainers such as Missy Elliott, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, Kanye West, Ricky Martin, and Jennifer Lopez. They also appeared in the dance documentary MOVE and choreographed three different productions of Cirque du Soleil, two of which included guest performances on Dancing with the Stars and America's Got Talent. Although Napoleon and Tabitha still choreograph and teach classes, they have moved toward directing tours and live events.
