除虱草（學名：Staphisagria macrosperma）是毛茛科除虱草屬的模式種，曾經屬於翠雀屬。[1]
名稱[編輯]
古希臘人把除虱草叫做σταφὶς ἀγρία（staphís agría），意思是「野葡萄乾」。迪奧斯科里德斯描述其葉似野葡萄葉，[2]但也有人認為這是描述其種子像葡萄乾。[3]
古希臘人也叫它φθειροκτόνον，即φθείρ（「虱子」）+-κτόνος（「殺滅」），因為當時人們用除虱草來除虱。[2]英語名lice-bane（「虱子的毒藥」）、西班牙語名matapiojos（「除虱」）、土耳其語名bit otu（「虱子草」）也有類似含義。
