林𫛚（学名：Zonerodius heliosylus），是鹈形目鹭科林𫛚属（Zonerodius）下的唯一一种鸟类。[2]这个物种仅分布于新几内亚、萨拉瓦蒂岛和阿鲁群岛内，有溪流、水池和沼泽的森林深处，海拔100—300公尺处。[3][4][5][6]因其栖地正在减少，因此其物种状态被归入近危。[5]
这个物种于1828年由法国博物学家勒内-普里梅韦勒·莱松及普罗斯珀·加尔诺于1828年描述。[7][8]1882年，义大利鸟类学家托马索·萨尔瓦多里认为其特征与分布于美洲的虎斑鹭属相似但有略微不同而将林𫛚独立成一属。[9]其属名来自古希腊语ζώνη（罗马化：zōnē，意为“条带、区域”）及ερωδιό（罗马化：erōdios，意为“鹭”）。[10]:414种小名则来自ἥλῐος（罗马化：hēlios，意为“夺得、偷去”）及σῡλάω（罗马化：sulaō，意为“太阳”），莱松当时给予林𫛚“Héron Phaëthon”之名，与希腊神话中的法厄同有所关系。[10]:188

在分类学中，林𫛚原本因其与虎斑鹭属的外观相似性而被长期认为是虎鹭亚科的成员。[12]:377[11]但2023年的线粒体DNA亲缘研究显示该属应隶属于鹭亚科下，与池鹭属形成姊妹群。[11]林𫛚为单型种，没有其他亚种。[2]
林𫛚体长65—71公分，体重平均约802克。[13][12]:422成鸟的头顶黑色，上半身为褐黑色，具有明显的浅褐至赤褐色的羽毛末端，形成横向条纹的外观。[14]其下半身则呈黑色和浅棕色条纹相间，颈下和上胸部则呈黑色和浅棕色条纹交错；下巴呈白色或浅棕色；腹部多呈白至浅棕色之间。[14]其翼长平均约30.30厘米，喙宽度平均约13毫米，喙厚度平均约19.2毫米，嘴峰长平均约93.6毫米，跗跖长平均约94.7毫米，尾长平均约12.42厘米。[13]两性几乎没有差异，仅雌性体型上略小并在部分区域有偏绿的光泽或色调；季节上的似乎也未有差异性。[14]
林𫛚是一种留鸟，为肉食性，主要以鱼类、甲壳动物、软体动物等水生动物及蜥蜴和蛇类为食，常在水边埋伏于植被中独自进食。[13][3][12]:422其繁殖季资讯不多，但推测可能与季风有关，约在4—6月之间繁殖；而唯一有记录过的巢位于溪流旁的树上，以树枝筑成。[12]:422[14]
这个物种的整体族群数量估计约有1500—7000只成鸟，虽然并未遭受捕猎危险，但据信其适合的生存环境正在逐渐丧失和退化，因此其数量趋势可能正在减少。[5]在《国际自然保护联盟濒危物种红色名录》中，国际鸟盟因此将林𫛚列为近危物种。[1][5]
